Whats the most used knot to tie when using the lifter. Was never a good knot tier so I thought I would practice up a bit on it.

A simple reef knot, fast to tie, easy to undo.

Any slip proof knot will do. Know what you're doing!

So far, I´m happy with the "shotstek"...no idea what the english name of this knot is. Haven´t had a pumpkin fall off the lifter and haven´t had a knot I couldn´t open easily after lifting.

I prefer a friction hitch like a blake's hitch. These knots are easily adjusted and tightened but may back back off on you. To eliminate this possibility I back it up with a small "pull to release" style knot. With the friction hitch backed up it is not going anywhere. To release the knots just remove the back up and slide open the friction hitch. There is no hard work to get a really tight knot loose at the bottom of the pumpkin. Good luck

I used to put a lot of thought into knots but now I just use a plain old double knot. I tied every pumpkin at roba farms like that last week. It ain't going nowhere and the rope used in lifters is perfectly easy to untie no matter how tight it gets under the weight.

rope with loop on one end. pull rope thru loop end and tuck between 2-3 straps and the pumpkin you can pull tighter than most knots.
