Greetings My name is William Kennedy. I am the casting Director of Haunted Overload in Lee NH. Haunted Overload is one of the most creative and unique Haunted attractions in New England and as of 2012 one of Top Haunts Magazine top 13 in the world. I am reaching out to you as I received your e-mail information though Big Pumnpkins.com We are seeking donations from local growers in the form of really big pumpkins. As you see I have attached a photo as we use real pumpkins in our Haunt for a organic experience. I understand you are in MA/RI/NH Area and this works as I live in Millis MA. Haunted Overload has a long standing tradition of helping animals with the profits goeing directly to the Cocheco Valley Humane Society and in 2011 we proudly presented them with a check for $17,000. I am reaching out to the community for very large pumpkins as I understand some giant growers got some 2-300Lbs guys that they don’t use and go to waste. Please consider donating them to us and we will give them a spooky home. We will feature your names in the list of sponsors and give you free tickets to the attraction. You can call me directly at 1-508-801-0920 Sincerely William Kennedy Haunted Overload Casting Director http://www.hauntedoverload.com/base.htm

Typically when growers donate there giant pumpkins it is to a non-profit organization. Haunted houses pull in loads of money during the month of october and should have no issues buying a few big pumpkins. I don't see why someone would want to give a pumpkin to someone to help them make more money for personal gain. If you revise your your post and offer to purchase the pumpkins for 75¢-$1 a pound I am sure you will get plenty of interest and have loads of pumpkins to choose from.

This is a full-pull for profit business venture that happens to donate 10% of their revenues during the Haunted Overload.
Can't blame the guy for trying to get something donated, and somebody might step up and give them a small one...but looks like they certainly can afford to buy the props that they need for the show.
Good luck Mr. Kennedy, sounds like a great and fun event that you hold.

If humane society would quit spending so much on lobbying against hunters they would not need so many donations. so if group is not nonprofit sounds like a profit organization donating to a politically affiliated group. doesnt sound like much of a deal.

some of the stuff may be the truth but it doesn't have to be said..............simply put, if nothing was said I'm sure he would get the point seeing how many other posts there are on this site.
People act different on forums V.S. face to face. Im just as guilty as anybody, some times I forget that there are real people reading this crap. Everyone is entitled to post what they feel though so I guess go a head.

Id like to thank those who responded with kind words. And for those who fee we make so much money hand over fist you have another thing coming to you. In the real world I am a Social Worker for the state, the Haunt is purely a hobby and when you look at the overhead cost you'd be shocked. We are not affiliated with the humane society and it is a locally run and owned animal shelter.
Thank you Brosco for your kinds words and offer.

I would not be shocked at the overhead Bill, anyone who runs any kind of a business knows what it is like. A lot of people who don't run a business thinks you get rich doing stuff like this. Thank you for doing something good for animals in need.
