I owe everybody a big apology! This got way out of control. I thought everyone would know I was joking around. I thought everyone would pick up on the sarcasm in my posts. Everyone knows I am not one to brag-remember, I am the big sandbagger. It was 90-110 for over 2 months this summer. 1.6 inches of rain since June 1st. Everything in my area is mostly dead. None of my pumpkins est over 1000lbs. My intent was not to trick anyone but have a little fun in an unfun year. Once again, I am sorry! Dave I will be waiting for those camera crews!!

Lol best joke ever.. Hook line and sinker..and rod and boat. I always love a good fish story. I thought that was the nicest round monsters I ever saw. You should think about becoming a sells-man... bridges or swamp land Ha.

And I'll piggyback that by saying that my 1276 pumpkin is in fact about 250# bigger than Kevin's 1488...lol...on the tape. His will probably go +40% and outweigh me!
As Kevin has alluded it's been a brutal season for the entire midwest. There are a couple growers having good seasons, but most of us are having very very poor results by our standards. It's a real tough pill to swallow after investing all that time / effort / $$ as many already know!
I absolutely wish everyone the best during weigh-off season because I know as well as anyone it can be a very fun / rewarding time of year.

I was questioning why the 1807 was so orange since the mother was not that orange. It was more greenish. Now I know why.... had me for sure though... even mailed the link to my old man. :-)

Kevin, That was a great prank on us. I think one reason so many people believed it, was because each year you consistantly grow huge pumpkins.
I've met Kevin a few times, and you'd be hard pressed to find a nicer guy IMO.

My first reaction was it was a story..But I emailed Nana Rae and she said you were a respected grower. So I took her word.

This is going to be the greatest sandbagging trick ever when he actually shows up at the weighoff with a 2000 pounder. :)

It kind of reminds me of this huge watermelon Frank & Tina Finders are growing:

If the tape measurement in the picture is correct, they may have grown the first 1000 pound watermelon. LOL
