We are forcast to have a very hot summer this year in Australia and am looking into shading and misting my patch. Hoping to reduce leaf burn and keep the plant cooler. If anybody has used shade cloth before what percent shade should I look for? any other thoughts or problems i may encounter? Thank you for your help Ben

ben,12 to 30% is commonly used.I like 22% .It can hold heat in if its not suspended High enough(greenhouse effect).eight feet off the ground works nicely

Ben, I've learned on here to put cloth on the ends of the new growth and it'll keep the new leaves from burning...Thanks Nanny Rea. I used netting for shade in the first few weeks and it really did the plants good and it is good to shelter the Kin in some fashion (Hoop or Tarp, etc,) along with throwing sheets over it I've also learned. Eleminating direct sunlight on the sheets over the kin is very good keep the kin itself cool. Good luck..Hope you got the Lope seeds if not let me know

22 to 30 %, 22 will still burn new growth in hot cimates like mine, I use 22% and mist, and shade tips when real hot.
