Mixed results; the biggest AG was about 500 pounds, and stayed green; after about 6 weeks on the vine at the same weight, a racoon ate through the side. The seeds were fully developed and some of the largest I've ever seen, and the vine never wilted once, even on 108 degree days. so I might try it again. do some of them just never turn orange, or maybe I got a squash cross?

Biggest field pumpkin was a little over 80 pounds, but we got over sixty nice pumpkins; many of the donated seeds I was given grew beautiful plants, but never set in the heat. All MacKinnon seeds flourished and produced wonderfully; it was these that Martha Stewart bought.
One last surprise for the season; I crossed MacKinnon 162 seedling with a .3 pound Jack be Little; and planted the resulting seeds 6 weeks ago and it has just started to set pumpkins, vine has intermediate sixed leaves but started setting pumpkins at only 3' long. hope they beat the halloween freeze

That is so cool, getting pumpkins to Martha Stuart and growing a cross that you made in the same season. What AG seed did you plant? We can figure out if there was any squash traits in there.

Weird, I have never seen a green AG, they are always white, yellow or orange. Sounds like you were growing a squash.

The AG I grew said 697 Veader, but I did not get it from him; it might have been mislabled or crossed? stayed green, with just a hint of tan or brown, but seeds were huge and fully developed, so I think it was ripe and mature. Really want to grow a big orange next year, but several people here in huntsville want seeds of this because it was never bothered by heat.
