I got the same thing. I think maybe a pumpkin is just like us as we get older. we shrink, but we also sag in the middle making us shorter but wider!!!!

A couple of years ago I had a foamer. The kin start rotting on the inside.I kept taping it the circum got larger as it was collapsing but the other ways did not change much if at all,After a few days I woke up to a stinky kin.I hope this is not whats going on for you.

It is not possible to only grow in circumference and not grow in either of the other measurements. Most likely it is measurement technique.

I had the same thing that handy described happen to me in 2009. By the time I realized what was happening it was too late to even weigh it.

Does it feel soft at all? It should still be firm.
