Hello everyone! I love your forum and it's been a big help this summer.

This is my first year growing and I am proud to say that I have 5 normal sized pumpkins fully orange. Everything was growing great until I noticed today that there appears to be raised bumps in the pumpkin flesh radiating out from the stem on 4 of them. These bumps are surrounded by slightly green pumpkin skin.

Very sad they aren't picture pefect, but for now I'm more worried about if this is a disease. I have not been able to diagnose on my own. Do any of you have any suggestions what this might be?

Next year I'm going to try for at least 1 big pumpkin, so for now I'm considering this effort "training".

Thanks!

as pumpkins age( be it field or giant variety)they do change. some more than others. what your seeing is probaly just that ---age and along with it some crows feet and roughing of the skin.

Yep, some get green and white, some cantaloupe with real rough skin, some get big ridges that look like exploding veins, and a few stay smooth and perfect in color.

Spray a fungicide if possible, or wipe them down with a bleach wipe.

The type is Mustang PMR which shouldn't be getting bumps....

PMR means it has some resistance to powdery mildew..They have not made a pumpkin yet that is totally resistant to disease,
