all season I have been using cc method for est weight. Day 70 I decided to do both to compare. My cc chart tells me I gained 70 pounds in 9 days, My ott chart tells me I lost 50 pounds in 9 days. I think I will put the tape away until weigh off. We'll leave it as a surprise!!!!!

The ott measurement is more accurate because it takes into account the height and width of the pumpkin.

Didn't want to hear that as it makes my kin smaller than I originally thought.

The cc estimate is a waste of time.

phat joe,
Is your pumpkin on the flatter side(lower to the ground)? If so, I think the OTT measurements tend to estimate the weight lower than the cc measurements. The OTT and cc estimates are pretty close to the same, with the pumpkin I've got growing now.

I use cc for estimating growth but not weight. By the time pumpkins get to a good size it's best to just find out of they are still growing, the scale will tell you how you've done. It's rare that circumference est. is any where near actual weight.

we never use just circumference. its only accurate or fairly accurate on pumpkins that are almost round.
