This has been an extreemly dry summer and i have used pretty much nothing but municipal water. The plants thrived all season and the 1634 Werner can't seem to get enough of it.It sure as heck didn't harm my plants or pumpkin growth.

3 signicant rains all summer before this last weekends 2 inches and this upcoming isaac rain....meant nothing but joliet city water all season. I have never filtered impurities or chloramine....just a standard mesh filter attached before timer.

Yes I used City water a few times this summer.I thought the cleaner water might be a good thing every now & then.I used it this morning 200 gallons in & around the Kin cave.I checked my house meter to see if my calculations were correct.I figured I was using 180 gallons a hr with the pump to the river.with the city water more presure it was 200 gallons as hr.I think I will run it again tomorrow. They both have the same ph 7.2

This year marks the first year of city water only for me and I've never been happier with how my leaves look this late in the season.

I think the big question for me is - with repeated watering is the chlorine level in most city water (1 - 3PPM?) enough to kill myco or the beneficial bacteria we use?

In past years when city water was needed I filled my rain barrels and let the water sit for 24 hours prior to use, to let the chlorine disipate. But this year's high temps and drought increased my water needs to a point at which that measure was not practical.

I'll take the chlorine over the unknowns in my creek water.

Wi

1422 Bogie was handwatered every single day with stinky Minneapolis, MN water. Kind of like the stinky Vikings and Gophers....peeeeeee u.

Note: I know the Vikings are completely irrellevant, but still.

We've been told the small amount of chlorine in the water is not harmful to beneficials.

Joliet city water is terrible..high ph and it is basically drink at your own risk....lol....to combat the rIse in soil ph from repeatedly using high ph water, I add sulfur every year. It will run into middle to high sevens if I do not add the sulfur. That being said all my pumpkins including 1493 shenoha have never known anything different unless it rains.
