Fred Jr., too bad you have to be made to feel you should apologize on here but there are those in the world that beg to judge others without really knowing just who that person is and that in itself is a huge flaw within living in the "Virtual" world and not the "Real" world. In the schools they call it bulling but on here I call it....well. I think the competition of "Popularity" on here is pathetic and by posting this here and now I'm sure I don't win the "Popularity weighin" with most on here, lol but I have never put myself in a "Popularity weigh off" and am very proud of it. Fred maybe if people would go to your Patch updates on youtube they could truly hear in your voice your real passion for this sport and then, only then would they come to realize how much more dedicated to the sport of Giant Pumpkin growing you realy are even over the veteran heavy hitters in the sport. Maybe they could learn something from you. This is not about me but I"m ashamed to wear the Bigpumpkins.com hat if this is what it stands for in belittling others and being able to insult others on here. Many hours have passed and I'm the only one with either a problem or a concience......I think we all know the real answer to that one.......so the crickets keep chirpin, lol...I'm stayin home...no weigh offs for me thank you very much. If this is what the sport is really all about..I'd rather not teach that lesson to my Kid..you all can but not me...Good luck Fred Jr. in your Growing AG's. Thanks to all that have helped me with seeds and knoweledge, I'll grow each and every one of them and Good luck to all on here who's got a Pair and I'm not talkin pumpkins.

Joseph, no weigh-offs for you? In my opinion that´s the wrong way, because it´s the way of keeping the really good ones (like you) outside, thus shifting the statistics...and I´m not talking about pumpkin weights. After a friendly hint from someone else I now realized why faster tim is faster than fast fred...because our world is oh so relative and everything just depends on who´s setting the benchmarks. If my comment in a previous thread had contributed to your current feeling, I´d like to apologize here and now, both to you and to Fred (if he felt insulted by my comment)...I never meant to do something like that, this comment was just based on a neutral observation of frequencies of particular posts in combination with a nickname, it never ever refered to real life capabilities, abilities or disabilities, because it simply could not. (To express it a bit more pronounced, I indeed referred to Fred being fast and Tim being even faster...the neutral observation of the nickname, whereas some kind of discussion which seems to be starting refers to Tim being maybe fast but Fred being not as fast as Tim...but this can only be done by people who know Fred and Tim, who put them next to their own benchmarks, and now the question is: Who is shifting the relative benchmarks to the disfavor of Fred? Those who don´t know him or those who know him and who feel like need to pronounce it?)...was just a thought.

every once in a while a grower comes along on the discussion boards whos commentary many would consider irritating and redundant.i have seen it several times over the years for sure.
they come into the hobby like a hummingbird on a feeder only to be gone from the hobby just as fast as they flew in.
unfortunately we growers also sometimes react before knowing who or what we are actually reacting to.for that i to am guilty at times.
unfortunately? if a grower/growers are challanged in any way? as is suggested? then they should be supervised before hitting the post reply button --- over and over again.

to add further. i have great respect for any human being be it man, woman or child that is challenged in any way. believe me thats why i and the hobbies top growers do the oaf "coats for kids " seed promotion every year. we care about the less fortunate. my post was to remind everyone that they are responsible for things they put into print and, with repetition? comes flustration and negative commentary by many readers. pap
