Can any of you veteran growers or anyone with knoweledge for that matter tell me if large lateral (against the ribs) cracks in the skin is more growth coming for the Pumpkin? The 1308 Barenie seems to be spittin out numbers that tell me its still growing at 61 dap. Like I've said this is only my second year with AG's and don't mean to be asking trivial questions to ya'll but I'm feeding it like its day twenty and have increased my water by 2-3 times..no explosion yet just all these lateral cracks and massive cantalouping. Was generaly wondering with the dap if this is normal and OK. Thanks.. 40 days till weigh off..yikes!!

It is still growing. Keep an eye on the cracks and keep them dry!

Here is what mine did last year. It kept growing and was still growing when I pulled the plug on it and took it to an early weighoff about 17 days after it split.

Joseph, my 1807 Stelts is doing the same thing. Close to the bottom side of the blossom end I have some heavy cantaloping. Radiating out from the blossom in all directions and in various spots all over the rest of the kin, there is some crackin going on. Chris S. told me not to sweat it and keep feeding it. He had the same thing on his 1810.
