Wiz I'm challenging you to a Sundan grass competition! Since we can't seem to keep our pumpkin plants alive we will then just have to grow the grass. Best grass wins! Anyone is welcome. Typically this time of year Joe would have a couple of spots to grow sudan grass with us but he is doing good this year so we will not allow him in our little reindeer games.

wiz and arvadaboy
speaking of reindeer? wiz in earlier postings had mentioned all the problems with elk trampling and eating in his patch at the nursery?
we have use mustard as a great natural soil fumeagent(spelling sucks)with great results.the added bonus is deer cant stand it and so far after using it twice? we have never see any critters in that patch.definately never once it starts to grow.
my question is that possibly were wiz grows at the nursery he could put in an wide boarder or mustard around his patch and this would cure his elk problem next year?

ned we grew it in a garden we are resting and it took about 6 weeks from spreading seed to flower ( then tilled under )---rested the area again for three weeks, and replanted last week.after its flowered for about ten day ya gotta till it under or once the plant goes to seed? you could have mustard everywhere for many years. you need to let the area sit for three weeks once you till it under. then you can replant anything. pap
