SOS, I just posted pics which are not up yet but I have some 1/4"-1" small surface splitting with clear sap seeping from around the stem side of the kin. Is this a big concern or normal indications of fast growth or normal growth? Pumpkin is way out away from power to be able to put a fan on it if needed hence I have no clue to whats going on or much less how to treat something like this. I don't even know the correct way to measure a Pumpkin of this weird shape so I can't even tell you the size. I do know on the narrow side it measures 92"-93" circ..I've never had one this size before and am thrilled to be in this situation, lol..but of cource praying for help via this posting.

Does it look like this?

I have gotten those every year so far. And so far they are only surface cracks and heal on their own. The shoulders are the thickest and strongest part, if they dont get deep, I don't worry -- too much.

You say they have sap seeping from them. If it is just little beads that are getting hard that is normal as well.

cntryboy, I'll email you some pics..doesn't look like what you had in the pic here. They are not running from the stem like yours were. I think I've got surface cracks.

"cantelouping" with surface beads of sap is normal... think of them as stretch marks

Thanks Milford, seems like I was worrying about nothing..like I said haven't been this far in growth ins size with an AG. I read back and fourth about cantalouping..some say it'll go heavy..some say it's done growing.....???? time will tell. just happy to be this far. Thanks Everyone

She is not done growing when you get those stretch marks the inside is growing faster than the outside.
