Finally have a pumpkin set on main. Kids dog ran threw patch and broke blossom off pumpkin. Its still growing it healed up fine. Will this be a big problem as it gets larger or should I just cut it and go with one on a secondary vine ? Don't see anymore on main coming anytime soon. What would you do ???

Leave it, make sure it healed up OK, could apply captan fugicide if any problems.
NUMBER ONE Problem for pumpkins is CANINE disease.... Second is SquashBUgZ

1675 Hopkins was grown with no blossom "nub." It wasn't removed by hand, but rather by foot.
My 1575 was the same, but I purposely removed that one. I actually think the blossom end stays "cleaner" and "tighter" with no blossom.
In other words I think it's actually better to have no nub.

How days old would a fruit be when you remove the blossom in a cases where you want it to be "cleaner"?

I'm guessing +- 20 Days old Scott. Maybe 15 on my 1575.
