I wouldn't chance it and pollinate the next one. Only mother nature and father time know for sure.

Shoudn't be a problem..that is normal..if it oozes a bit..just keep it dry so it doesn't get rot...once dried..should be good to go...it looks already pretty dry. I do not know of any relationship between those little cuts and a BES....so I would keep it unless something else changes. IMHO.

Let it go. Keep with your plan and set another and watch them both. If it deforms or stops, cull it during your selection process.
