Has any one had there main tip burn off I lost two of mine

Happened on both my plants last year.....same day. Both were shaded with chairs daily. I think the hot soil did it.

Lost all the tips on the three plants I have left lost one plant straight out from the heat.

Lost my tip on one plant that i planted later my early plant just grew threw the heat.

Lost my 1256 Platte to the heat but it wasn't protected at all. All others are doing fine but I'm putting tons (Literally) of water on them.

Lost the main on 2 plants, even under shade during the 2 days we hit 110 heat index. Fortunately, I have side vines that are not terminated to make up the space.

I have had lots of over 100 * days & some as high as 117, never lost a main due to burning ! But i do put a umbrella over main tip as it grows ! 10$ at wallmart, O & i do slide the 2 poles togather so it is at about 2 ft off ground !
