There has been alot of contraversey about weather to cut main off after your chosen one or carry on and let it grow. This has been described as back feeding. Is this just opinion or is there any actual science that would prove this theory??

only if you loose the main vine at some point during the season. then? you will be happy your turned that main out and grw a seperate growth after the fruit.
now thats back feeding.
ps--we have grown pumpkins that put on over 600 pounds after the entire main up to the pumpkin was removed.
now that phat-joe.
