I have talked with at least 2 friends today that took 60 to 70 mph winds. One of those guys also had a prime female munched on by a mouse, vole, or mole....same as one of my future prime females this week. Add the 100 degree temps and crazy heat now combined with moisture equals rot city. The fungus is ready to get to all those wounds the wind created.

All this being said.........bring it on! Keep fighting the good fight. We have all done too much to this stage of the game to lay down. Maybe we will not get a new pb this year....maybe so if luck changes and hard work. I just want to say that if you are giving it all you got....that is all you can do. Take each punch on the chin and come back fightening. Best of luck and hoping to boost some morale. Do your best.

This post gave me a little optimism, I just watched my snow fence get shred like paper. Pumpkin plants are trashed.

Every leaf on every plant was sideways after the straight line winds Friday nite. Most popped up and look today like nothing happened. Surrounding leaves have already positioned themselves to the fill the gaps of those snapped and removed.....these plants are remarkable recoverers....never give up.

Yep. Second storm in three days packing high winds. Immediately after Friday's storm, I righted all the leaves and this morning you'd never know there was a storm. Ain't been out to survey tonight's damage yet. This beer is really going down well.

Just got hit with a big wind and rain storm after almost no rain for weeks. Had leaves and vines rotated flat on the ground. Just got back in from being in the mud and rain for the last 2 hours propping up vines and leafs with bamboo sticks.................Yes, we are all alittle off in the head, lol.

Keep the faith, have a good one all.

Been windy here too and lots of my leaves have been bent, creased and torn and resemble those of an end of season plant. Had one vine flipped and it took me ages to work out which way to rotate it back.

With so much effort going into growing them and with the constant measuring etc its so easy to be dissapointed with the knocks our plants take. All part of the journey/story.
