Does anyone know if lack of rain or water causes any issue on getting a fruit to set or develop within first 7-10 days after pollination?

If the soil is too dry and the plant is stressed it will cause issues with fruit set.

i agree ron,, learned that the last few seasons,, here ,, i try to water not hvy, nite before i pollinate ,, just so the ground is moist,, cover after wards,, and if hot add a bit of ice bottles fer an assist ,, sometimes it works,, sometimes ,, the plant has already decided.. curt
