Is Bacterial Wilt the only thing that will cause the pumpkin plant to wilt in one day or is there other things that happen that fast? Looked great yesterday flat as a pancake today! I lost 2 today and one last week. I didn't have hardly any cuce beetles. They were all dead we I found them. Used imidaclaprid... even though I can't spell it.

Is the whole plant wilting or just the newest growth? How is the root system? A good contact insecticide in addition to the systemic imadiclopred helps with svb which might be one possibility.

Does it revive or remain wilted at night

I lost 3 last year to a vole eating the roots, it flagged in the sun and looked good at night, then 4 days later they died

It was the 1610 Star and it looked really good yesterday and dead today. I pulled it out and didn't see any bugs or worms. The vine fluid seems watery not sticky or like gel. The roots were off white not white white maybe slight brown/tan colored inside. The plant was 15 to 20 feet wide and 12 feet long with a 2.5 to 3" stump. Main vine was a yellow color.

If it just dropped dead my guess would be phytophthora. Have you done any fungicide drenches this year or have you used either Aliette or one of the phosphate fungicides?
