I have a pumpkin on my 1386 sherwood that was pollinated over 10 days ago and it is only the size of a softball... should I cull it and hope for the best with the next pollination about 22 ft out on the main or just let it go. I have not seen a pumpkin start out this slow with such a big plant. I was also wondering if I may have some soil deficiency that would cause slow fruit growth.

If the pumpkin is still shiny it is ok. It will get dull and eventually shrivel if it has aborted.
Some kins take a while to get going, don't cull until you know you have one you want (or you know it aborted). There is a real possibility that you might not get another one to set since the summer heat is upon us and you would be rather upset growing up to this point and cutting off your only hope.

I pollinated a pumpkin on 6/22 but am taking no chances by pollinating the next one along the vine this morning. Waiting until an abort happens can cost you valuable growing time.
