Are open polinations a bad thing. I'm just so crunched for time this year that I don't know if I'll get hand polinations done. the good news is that the plants are finally off to the races.

I'd prioritize a big pumpkin over the seeds in that pumpkin any day. Let the bees do their business.

It is more natural. Sort of like free-range chicken.
Good luck whatever you do!

Controlled pollinations are just important if you want to know what is in the seed for next year and what day it was pollinated on for record keeping. Mother nature and the bees been doing this for eons.

hey ben
if your only interest is that year and that pumpkin then open pollinations are for you.( providing you have a bee population in your area?)
nothing wrong with that, just dont expect any serious grower to plant your seeds.
