Anyone who has used a thermacell knows they are very effective for clearing mosquitoes but I have discovered that cucumber beetles will quickly become quite docile and easily squished-won't fly away after a few minutes with the thermacell sitting under the pumpkin leaves(calm day) I didn't run it long enough to see if it killed them but it seems a good tool for clearing them out prior to spraying with insecticide....just my observations.

uses a pyrethrum based repellent in a pad heated by butane that kills/repels flying insects.

works very well in calm winds...and you don't have to run it all the time,so you can conserve so its not so expensive.Great invention.
