had a deformed flower on my MacKinnon 162. Did the exact same thing, developed a deep rib and split when over 2' long; all that vine resource wasted; better one on another secondary without pistil deformation is developing wonderfully

Let it develope. It may be your only one you get set on the main. Pollinate every female on main no matter how twisted or deformed they look. If you get more than one set on the main and both are doing same cull it. If it gets 15 to 20 days old and kicking butt over another set and shows no irregulaties on shape....you may decide to keep it. I have pollinated every kind of mangled mess there is. Seeds in blossoms and irregular toothlike extra lobe grew my first one over 1000...my 1147 off the 1041. Everyones 1041 I saw had the extra tooth lobe. And I saw them at the weigh off. I have luckily never had an irregular shape pumkpin if I got them to set....no matter how ugly. I kept a seeds in the blossom from a good grower and culled one on the same plant that was down the lne after the success I had from the 1147. Set them all....you might need them.
