I've got 2 females opening in the am and its gonna be in upper 90's Tomorrow I've never pollinated in this type of heat before I've currently got shade setup over fruits and once pollination is complete ill be placing frozen jugs of I've behind fruit with fans in front has nyone had luck with this route? Also how long will I need to keep fans on fruit to keep them cooler? I normally reopen closed flowers 48 hrs after pollination to keep it dry out to prevent rotting. Just wondering how many ppl have had luck pollinating in this heat thanks Dave

Load the freezer with soda bottles 3/4 filled with water..rotate them 3 at a time throughout the day. I kept track of temperatures around the pollination today..Air temp was 97 degrees..around the pollination was 76 degrees..I also put a chair over the pollination with a piece of agribon shade cloth clamped to it. I think a fan would also help.

I think its important to keep the whole plant well watered and misted to keep it from being totally stressed. Alot of us growers in the arid west have misters and I run em heavy for about three days if its hot and I'm trying to set one. Also a cold one for the grower seems to hep
