I had to restart from scratch in mid may. I was way ahead too as I imagine my plants would be at least 15-20 feet now. Now I just have one 4 footer.

Not as far along as I wanted but doing OK. The recent warm weather has helped.

It's all relative, A 4 foot plant now could be a healthy plant in September. where as a 15-20 foot plant now may be old and dead in september. Last year I was flooded out and plants were slow. lost everything but one squash. It was pollinated july 26th. I walked away with 3rd place ribbon and 100$. So being behind is all relative. It really put my growing in perspective for me.
Don't over think your season. Just have fun.

I'm a bit behind but the warm weather and the rain has been a great combination to catch up in.

When I look at last year;

Then look at this year;

I seem to be on the same track as last year...

As bad as the weather has been(cold and windy) I am quite pleased. Totally agree with Bry. Now that the weather is turning the plants are starting to run. They're nice to look at and seem to be very healthy considering.

way behind here. my early plants are where my regular plants should be. I'll be polinating them next week. my prime plants are only 3ft long and I'll be lucky to polinate them middle of next month. just too much rain and hail... and lots of distractions. Just keep on growing. It aint over till its over and there are always things to learn for next year.

It is not a vine race, early polinators will have fruit sitting and waiting to rot.

Way behind here. By the time my vines are far enough out to pollinate, the weighoffs will be over :(

First year grower, so really don't know where I should be right now. I have 8ft main vines but my 1100 Kaminski is my best looking plant by far. Females showed up yesterday on all three of my plants.

i have always felt that the only difference betwee a plant with a 4 ft main and one with a 10 ft main is 6 days of hot sunny weather. yes, the main will grow an average of 1 ft per day when everything is in place. over all plant health,weather,soil-nutrient availability, moisture-etc-etc. so dont give up. and never worry about what the other guy has in his /her patch. its a long road from june to october. pap

way, way behind due to many factors, but i at least have a few plants in the ground. weather forecast looks good coming up, so i will have to keep the groundhogs at bay while the plants are vining out.

WiZ iZ behind, but that waZ a good thing. Had I started when I wanted to, I would of had much more hail damage due to plantZ being out of the hoop. So I think itZ all relative...

Both my plants are way ahead of where my best was last year at this time. I think its mostly due to testing my soil and fixing the PH.
