It is day 10 of direct sow pumpkin seeds. I have roughly 60 percent of the plants up. Should i start to worry??? I have only had one day of rain since i planted. Im guessing that has something to do with it

I already have some ready. This is the first year i have used Peat pots for seedlings and learned how big of a pain in the butt they are to keep moist

I also got a system going of soaking the Gold Rush seeds in peroxide and water for 4 hours, then putting them in a wet coffee filter and in a zip lock bag. And putting them on top of the aquarium. 24 hr or less germination

I imagine your temperatures were similar to NY's last week being cool (and wet). You may still be OK since I planted gold rush etc on May 26-30th and some are just popping thru although most are up - that's 17 days later. How deep did you plant them? Shannon is correct - backups are always good. I have some Gold Medal which are 95 day pumpkins if you need them.

You should soak the peat pots first before planting

Pinch off pieces of the peat pots before putting them in the ground.
This gives the roots an easy way out.
I also keep the peat pots in an open baggie.
Holds in the moisture so you hardly have to water, and the peat pot stays moist.
Makes it easier to pinch off pieces of the pot all the way around it.
