Is there a better time of day to water pumpkins so that they might absorb more of what you are watering them with.

late afternoon would seem to be better than day time when its sunny out.just do it early enough so the plant can dry off before night fall.

I heard something that I hadn't thought of before, and maybe all you people that grow where it is colder than middle OH already know this, but I thought I would share.
If you have very cold nights (in 40s to low 50s) it might be beneficial to water in the middle of the night. The water is generally 55 degrees or so, which is warmer than the early spring nights. On top of that the plants get wet from the dew anyway, so it's not like that will change things much.
Just a thought.
