Befor I start - No I can't send a photo- I'm lucky to be able to e-mail. Had same problem last year. Some leaves get about the size of my hand. Then I notice the edges starting to curl in a bit, and eventually the outer inch or so turns brittle and falls off. We haven't had real hot weather yet and I am using shading. Could over fertilizing cause this. ANy IDEAS!!!

I think I found my answer on Matt D. photo's. I'm 90 % sure it is sunburn. Boy these kins are sensetive.

That actually makes sense Chad. Sort of like leaving plants indoors too long!!! Thanks!!!!

I have also noticed over the last 3 years that using imidacloprid (Bayer Tree and Shrub)... which is a GREAT systemic insecticide...that it seems to cause the leaves and vine tips sensitive to the heat...I have been trying to water more this year to keep the leaves cooler and also not using imidacloprid if I see a heat wave coming.
Just some thoughts.

Some other things ive seen do this are spider mites and roundup drift.

I haven't used any pesticides and appear to be clean of any bugs at this point. Haven't used round up or any other weed sprays either!!

I wouldn't be shading at this time of year either. I'm not 100% sold on shading except on very hot days with no wind. If you are at home all day (I am) I mist the leaves around noon our and again around 2:00pm. This seems to do the trick and the leaves get full sunlight instead of 70% or less.
