flat vine or ribbon is the term used for plants that mutate into multiple leaves at each node.Theyll start as two leaves at each node and can get worse as the plant develops. the plant has the equivelent of two or more vines fused together which makes a tall skinny vine shape hence the term "flat vine"

there are differences between flats and doubles, see pict.

flats are flat like a firehose while doubles actually look like two vines fused together. i have terminated one end of the doubles before successfully.
