Is the size of the fruit on the day it blooms any indication of future size? My 697 Veader blooms tomorrow and the fruit is smaller than a golf ball, but I have a FP 99 Lyons that has a pumpkin larger than a tennis ball, and is 2 days at least from flowering. Have never seen such a large unpollinated, unbloomed infant pumpkin; is this size common? My MacKinnon 162 is blooming females about the size of my thumb.
