3 of my 30 day old vines have small female flowers at the main tips(field pumpkins) probably 2 weeks away from blooming. should you set the first one, or wait for larger ones later;? vines are about 6 feet long now, will probably be about 12 feet long estimated when females finally flower.

I would pollinate everything incase later ones don't set but you want your keeper to be at least 10 feet from the stump so you can get enough plant behind it to support it. Also depends on when you weigoff is. If you have to go much beyond 100 days between Polination and weighoff you run the risk that the pumpkin might not make it to weighoff.

since they are field pumpkin yes pollenate now takes about forty days for them to mature. if you wait they will do much worse in your high summer heat. if you were thinking about making a weigh off youll have to wait till forty or fifty days before to poll to make it there but your no where close to one now so i am just guessing your growing them for fun of it and then yes pollenate first ones.
