will try to post pictures and start diary tomorrow; out of all the fp seeds that came up on April 1, two are tied for best, MacKinnon 162 and MacKinnon 103; both are about 6' long and have side vines (laterals?) about 2' long. Far more vigorous than the others. Been covering vine nodes, turning soil in front of the advancing vine and adding rhizogen under each node. male flowers are about an inch long and probably about a week from flowering. Have never seen vines grow so fast; my daughter is getting excited over the possibility over growing a prize winner. Back in Illinois I used to grow pumpkins for her that she and her friends would play in(nothing over about 600#) . Anyway; does anyone have suggestions for anything further I can do to get the best chance for a big one?
