One of my seeds was germinated in a paper towel nicely. It looked very agressive as it burst open the seed coat in the paper towel. I planted it in starter soil carefully. Today I notice one cot growing nicely and the other broken off evidently by the edge of the seed coat which had a stranglehold on it. What are the prospects now? Can the plant grow nicely while starting with one cot?? Thanks Tom

It will slow it down for a while, but should catch up to "normal" eventually

I had a cot break off my 444 Beachy last year. Started another and it did the same thing. These were the most agressive seedlings I've ever seen. The vigor of the maturing plant was tremendous. The plant wasn't all that "pretty."
The pumpkin was my #1 grower(with no stump due to foamer) and would have been clear of 1600 had it not gone down to fusarium / etc. I did harvest the fruit at 1276#.

Didn't Beachy or Welty dissect one in like 4 pieces and grow 4 plants?
