Jane & I would like to thank the GVGO executive, Chris Lyons (nominated us) & GVGO members for honoring us with the GVGO's Hall of Fame Award at this past Saturday's 8th Annual Seminar. We had no idea that we were being inducted & were quite shocked & excited when it was announced. Being associated with past inductees such as Al Eaton, Bill Greer, Dave McCallum & George Lloyd is a great honor & we are humbled by the experience. Jane & I will continue to be part of the executive & be available to help fellow growers reach their goals.
We would also like to thank Kirk Chenier for all his countless hours of work as he steps down from his role as President of the GVGO. His commitment to the role of President during the past 4 years is appreciated by all members of the club. Kirk, now Past President will continue to be part of the executive & help the new administration where ever he can.
We'd also like to thank John Butler for all his help as a GVGO executive over the past few years. His help & support is gratefully appreciated by all of us. In his place we'd like to welcome Pat Watson to the executive. Pat is a hard worker & will be a welcomed addition to the club.
One last thing. We'd like to welcome our new Co-Presidents Phil Joynson & Russ Landry as they step up into their new roles. The job of GVGO President has become a big commitment & it takes many hours of time to do the job right. We wish them both the best as they embark on their new journey as the leaders of Canada's top grower's club. Thanks guys for stepping up to the plate when your club needed a new leader. Jane & I, along with Kirk & the rest of the executive will be here to help & support you in any way you see fit.
Good luck this season. Jane & Phil

Congrats Phil & Jane! well deserved for sure, with out question you deserve it.
You couldn't have picked 2 better people as your new Co- Presidents (Phil Joynson and Russ). Having guys like Phil with his many years of experience will be a great asset to the club and all growers part of the GVGO for sure.
As for Russ Landry , Ive known Russ for many years and have learned ALOT from him, not only here on bp.com but the many articles he has written about pumpkin growing over the past 10 years or so. Russ definitely doesn't half ass anything that hes involved in when it comes to pumpkins growing, hes definitely a guy that dedicates his time into a lot of research and to share the new things he finds out with all growers. I know any club out there would be tickled pink to have him as their president because of what he brings to the table.
Kirk, great job on your last 4 years, your dedication to your club is something most of us growers don't realize the hard work and especially the time it takes to be in a position like yours, its more work then a lot of people realize.
