Hi All I was wondering if there is a spot that lists all of the Howard Dill award winners? I have not noticed one and thought maybe someone out there knew. I would like to see the progression of the the winners and to see if any of the off springs also produced winners.
Thanks Joe

I think thats a great idea;if you can see all the The Howard Dill winners for the year and the crosses it took to get that beauty.

I agree, especially since it is one of the top awards.

I know more emphasis is put on weight and not color but these are called pumpkins right? How about giving a little more recognition to the orange ones. At least give us a better way to pick our seed choices by listing all of the GPC HD winners each year.

The bigpumpkins.com results reporting software given to the site coordinators should have a spot to list the Howard dill winner. Then the winners could be easily pooled at the end of each season.

a very good idea .especially for those that grow for both color and weight.
of course you do realize that just a listing is only the first step? what good is knowing the winners and their pumpkin unless you have a photo as well? you need both name and photo to be effective.
not sure regarding the amount of work to get this organized and maintained though? would need one central person to maintain this feature i would think.
heres an idea that could work.post the pictures and info on a "howard dill winners" diary for all to view.
a simple solution that needs only a couple things to happen 1. a responsible person to administrate and take charge of receiving and entering the dairy photo and info 2. a picture of the hd winners with his/hers/their pumpkin 3. email same to diary manager 4. manager posts the photo and info on his "howard dill winners"diary. (the picture taking and emailing to the diary manager would be the winners responsibility) ---- kinda the same system as our unknown growers diary was a couple years back.
also folks --------a diary set up to show photos and info regarding all site champions would work as well. it just takes people that are willing to do the work. we cant always put it off on the gpc or bp now can we? they can only handle so much and their plates get full.
im curious ? who would step up and take on this task?

Joking of course, still a good idea. 351 Linford might be a back up seed I may be using. I want the pollen from a 678Young only they won't geminate, they say, I will try, if no germination the 351 is looking better.
