Tagging on to the earlier post about who's got the best shot at growing the next world record thread. Who's seed do you all think has the best shot?

I like the 1789 Ron Wallace

Not picking any particular seed but I believe it will once again come from a totally unexpected seed at a totally unexpected location. The genetics are just too good to limit it to only a few "top" seeds. The weather will once again be the great equalizer.

Your exactly right Wiz..

Pencil this seed in Wiz..and maybe one for you to grow in the cold Rocky Mountains, in the last couple weeks there is one seed that keeps coming up on my seeds to grow list that grew really huge fast, in a lot cooler climate, that was grown in a small 500 sq ft area.

The 1723 Marshall

I'm thinking that if people want to scream, yell and insult each other, that's their business, but this is a pumpking growing site. Let's at least keep things at that level and leave politics and other issues alone.

And personally, I like the 1789 Wallace!

I like the 1647 Wallace. It was pollinated by the 1789. And it's all 1725 Harp Genetics.

I will be planting the 1789 for sure. I will be working hard on getting my soil as balanced as possible before it goes in the ground. I'm also going to build a watering system. I have a water meter I picked up from eBay so that I can keep track of exactly how much water I'm putting into the patch. Very excited to get started this year.

on a personal note.

i feel the 1647 has a fantastic up side.we never know at pollination time what our pollinations will do but after seeing rons freak grow ( biggest and fastest i have ever seen in over 20 years of growing ) then knowing that pollon was in my 1647 (which was very thick and a couple hundred over chart) im thinking thst combination is well worth the risk of planting an unproven seed.we will know come october.

the 1647 reminded me a lot like my 1450 sib of two 1068 plants from the 2006 season. the 1647 was thick, good shape and no sag lines to talk about as well.

had it not been for a small rotton spot where the dam thing had over grown the belting it would have been at our weigh-off. still glad ron talked me into weighing it though.

my two plants this year are 1495 stelts and 1647 wallace. will cross into each other.

my best to everyone.

I like the chances of the 1647 Wallace, 1560 Urena, 1723 Marshall as all three will be in my patch next year. I added in the 1789 Wallace, 1630 Revier and 1303 Sweet to round out the group.
