So far 4 clubs have posted on the auction forum looking for his contact info. I can only speak for the NEGPGA, We have not had a response and I'll bet the other 3 are still waiting also. Woody

The NYSGPGA has not heard from r.5555 since he or she had a winning bid. The mystery continues! Thankfully, everyone else has been wonderful to work with.

He was on chat last night for a few minutes and I did not know he/she was being looked for or I would have told them to get in touch pronto.

Blacklisted individuals quickly find out they are not welcome anywhere, anytime concerning auctions or meetings of any sort.
Banishment from the giant pumpkin growing community should be complete and unanimous with no exceptions for non-paying bidders.

Just a suggestion, if an unknown bidder wins a lot, the auctioneer or moderator could request that person to send an e-mail right away so they can know who they are dealing with. The auction would continue, and after a reasonable amount of time, the lot could be re-offered or sold to the 2nd highest bidder if the unknown guy/girl didn't identify themselves.

I agree Andy...with our first on-line auction tomorrow, this thread is good timing. I normally email right after winning the lot, it does not take much time and I think it should be standard practice even if the bidder is intending on bidding on more lots.

We have a live person confirming bids . It's not practical to stop an auction in progress to announce we haven't heard from so - and -so.. We have done that in the past and the buyers say they will contact us after the auction.. I will just re- offer the lot on the message board and let ken know of this dead beat

And if you don't know who the dead beat is? I could create another BP account right now and provide a fake name with a hotmail or gmail address. Ken could stop me from causing more trouble in the future I suppose by blocking my IP address, and I could do it again from another location.
Give the lot to the 2nd highest bidder and I bet people would send a confirmation e-mail PDQ.
