Normally we're in a deep freeze. Not so this year.
We actually have a golf course opening today, Never before has this happened.
Next week highs are to be in the high 50's.
We have ZERO, snow.

Hows your water levels look, going to have a drought?

No snow means no water, plus crazy strong winds drying everything out.
Actually we have Fire bans in most areas because of the dry conditions.

High of 55 today. Have had 6" of snow total. But plenty of rain. So no drought here, yet.

2 feet of snow on this day last year. Today again there are some bugs flying around. Whacky!

Warm winter doesn't always mean more bugs. A lot of varieties will be fooled into hatching early and follow that with sub zero temps and the population of them will actually drop. I used to think the same way you do until I done some research on it.

Looking at local records, One foot of snow fell in Central Ohio on April 4th 1987. Was one of the highest 24hr snowfalls until March 8th 2008 I think. 2 biggest 24hr snowfalls were in spring here. So not over for 2 1/3 months.

Correction, biggest 24 hr snowfalls here.

1. March 2008 15.4 in lol

2. Feb 1910 15.3 in

3. April 1987 12.2 in

Feels like spring here. If its like this in April we usually are pretty happy but our chances of a real winter are gone now. The last couple years we had some very cold temps in march and I bet we get some cold then. There is no way that it would ever seem as cold in march as it would in the short days of January but it's going to even out. I'm going to add a ? How's the greenhouse Eddy? Is it dry as mine? I watered it good in the fall and there is no moisture there or anywhere though we have about an inch of snow left from the maybe 3 that we've had all "winter".

Here in southern Maine we have 3 inches of snow at best . I need to burn that pile of firewood in the basement by April to make room for germinating Atlantic Giant Seeds .

Don I've never had the moisture go so fast. I only have 6 inches of ice on the dugout, so next week if we hit the 50's I'll soak it.
