Sweet1, tillage radishes are a very good cover crop. They are very beneficial to your patch.
It is best to plant them as early as you can. Planting in October is a little on the late side for the northeast.
I like planting them blended with Austrian winter peas and oats or wheat and crimson clover.

I am wanting to try this this year...got too cold too fast to get them in, but they are supposed to be a cold weather crop.....with long rootZ....

Wiz, tillage radishes have to be planted August-September to get max benefit since they winter kill when temps hit the teens. I plan to use them this year to improve my patch.

Had over two hundred acres of them last year as a cover crop on my farm. if you like radish they are great to eat. they just added a brand name to a dikon radish. the groundhog, tillage and nitro raddish are all the same.
