This site is a WEALTH of information going back years. A big thanks to Ken for hosting it and all that have contibuted. I spend countless hours pouring over this data, learning everything I can.

In the two years I have been on the site, I have seen posted and heard people say many times that it is hard to find things on BP.com. If you use google's advanced search feature -- described below -- I think you will find it easier to find what you are looking for.

Go to www.google.com and next to the search block there is a link for Advanced Search.

Clicking it will present a form that you can use to look for: all words; an exact phrase; one or more words; and another line to exclude certain words from the above criteria. AND MOST IMPORTANTLY the last block at the bottom of the form, you can type in the webpage that you want to search, using the criteria in the rest of the form -- this case http://www.bigpumpkins.com

After you use the search a few times you will most likely be able to format a search without filling out the form, but the form is always available and will always provide the correct syntax for the search you create.

Happy searching.

I just use the site search on BP's home page & I've always found everything I was looking for. Seems easier

I receive the following message 9 out of every 10 searches I've ever tried to do on this site:

You must enter valid search criteria.

I am looking forward to using the advice above as the BP search engine must be pretty simplistic and can't handle multiple words that do not appear adjacent to each other in a string.

Thanks!!

Orangeneck, to use the BP search engine, it has to be letter for letter and word for word, no extra spaces etc. So if you are searching a past post with a mispelled keyword, you need to mispell it to find it.

And Thanks Cecil.

I always use one word searches. ex, lithovit or co2 or what ever I am looking for. If you use two different words it will search for posts that have every word you searched. A recent post on Bp about Biota Max got me wanting to see more so I searched Biota Max. It showed me every post & everyones diary who used it so I might see dosages.

I was in chat one afternoon and when I would ask a question I would be told to go search it. I did and after refining my searches I usually found what I was looking for. So are you saying the people who designed this website didn't do a good job with the search engines?

I'm sure that ken himself would be the first to tell you that the search engine on this site is quite rudamentary. If it wasn't then the google search that cntryboy posted about would serve no purpose. That has nothing to do with bashing the site or the designers, it is simply stating the obvious.
