I see lots of Images and Videos of Jim & Kelsey Bryson pumpkins but very little talk on theirs methods and for that matter anyone else's methods? Is it the way of Pumpkin growers in Canada and the USA that they are so secretive?

I have have bred and grown world record onions in the UK and tell all. this is the only way to get others to follow the hobby?

Extremepumpkin.store has a feeding schedule on their website. Most Clubs put that in their newsletters, and have events where growers gather and freely exchange information. Some even have educational growers seminars.Ask and you will receive.I was referring to Ailsae's comments in my previous post. The best thing any serious grower who wants to learn can do is contact a local club, get involved and ask for help.

Ailsae, instead of calling out all the good people in North America, why not doing a little looking before you commit something on ink;

- 9 (yes nine) great recent posts on the topic by a world class grower and world class guy pap...in the new growers section

http://www.bigpumpkins.com/msgboard/ViewBoard.asp?b=14

- extreme pumpkin store (another classy guy and grower)

http://www.extremepumpkinstore.com/media/pdf/fert.pdf

- World Class Grower/Record Holder and Super nice guy...Joel Holland

http://www.hollandsgiants.com/fertprogram.html

So, before you cast stones accross the ocean towards two great countries with hundreds of great growers...do some researching and reading.

(all that with a bunch of links in 3 minutes!!)

Take some time to look through the Topics on here and the different themes disscussed on all of the threads. I think you will find that all the so called secrets are reveiled.

We share. This site is FULL of information. And a lot of growers, you can click the little envelope on a grower diary post; send them an email, and they will be glad to talk or type with you. Ask away, you will get answers.

I've found this to be the most open and supportive group..!

I believe Jim Bryson is scheduled to speak at the IGVGC seminar in Niagara Falls this March. I don't think he keeps too many secrets? Do you Jim?...lol

The last SNGPG newsletter had an interview about the Bryson's 1818 and with Dave Stelts about his 1807 and Joe Jutras about his 1661. They shared their methods and the info is out there.

You might even want to try asking a specific question about a growing technique. The people here are very willing to share their techniques.

There are plenty information on feeding and other methods. You have to get involved in the programs like patch tours and general involvment in the clubs. In the off season you gotta e-mail some growers and you gotta ask them questions in the winter. After a few years of growing and growers see that your putting your time in the patch and you're developing some consistence they'll share more with you. There is so much to cover that it can't be covered in one seminar or one visit to a patch. I've found that there are plenty of people willing to share information just for the asking.

yep Pat! Jim Bryson is going to present in Niagara, as well as Joel Jarvis - two world record holders in both pumpkin and squash. We also have Matt DeBacco (our mad scientist) confirmed who is going to present on plant diseases and identification. We are currently in discussions with the 2011 GPC Master Gardeners, Glen and Margaret Anderson and hope to have them confirmed very soon as well. Plus the traditional Heavy Hitters Q&A panel! Should be a very informative seminar with lots of growing techniques shared by all. Finalized agenda will be available in the next couple of weeks - watch for the posts! And don't forget about the networking oppportunities - plenty of time to grab an experienced grower's ear for a one-on-one discussion!

I was talking to Joel earlier today. It sounds like he has some very informative info to share with everyone at Niagara about growing the big greenies.
I'm sure Jim will be happy to share his methods with everyone as well. I'll be taking notes for sure!

Ailsae I believe is a gentleman named Kieth Foster. He owns and runs Exhibition Seeds. A very talented and knowledgeable grower himself. Could be wrong but I don't think so.
