Ok. How many people would start a collection to purchase me straight jacket if I said I could drive 2 hours north, put my boat in the water and go fishing? http://ifishalberta.com/lakeFeedback.php?id=27&rate_id=1501&utm_source=twitterfeed&utm_medium=twitter

Cold lake is a deep lake and never freezes until December anyway but..... That's crazy. Someone told me Turtle had 18". There's been little snow to insulate so the ice is there but I bet after the last few days that it won't be strong. Still to put the boat in in January.... Lol. Freezing rain warning for us tonight. Mother nature is using the old rope adope, I bet she comes out swinging hard!

Fifties and sixties here again, or above norm. We have had at least half the ground covered with snow for over TWO weeks and glad to see it going away.
Oh yea, the milder the winter, the more BUGS you will have. Thinking of when it gets seriously 60's on Thursday to give a shot of diebugdie cocktail around the house and garage perimeter... and giving spring patch a shot of Merit to kill grubs off in advance. We tend to have a solid carpet of grubs 2" down...

If it is this warm now. There is a big chance of a very long cold last half of winter/spring.

Plenty of ice here in Minnesota on most lakes. I have been ice fishing for the last three weeks. No snow makes it very nice for getting around. I have been able to drive my truck on the lake for the last two weeks now. It is a strange year though as normally we would have over 2 ft of ice by now. Going to be 40 the next three days.

With a warm winter without snow and no ice on our lakes and rivers, I've been catching Walleyes all winter. Bring on the global warming! Its been great fishing, and I didn't have to Canada.

Was 11 degrees celcuis (52 F) here this morning with torrential tropical rain....not good for the local ski mountains with an already lower than normal snow fall.
Just wait, Ma Nature is gonna hit us all hard in the early spring...

Zero one morning last week then 35 low the next morning. The six inches of snow is all gone with highs in the low 40's; we need snow or there will be a tough summer with wildfires. It has been a crazy winter here. Last year we had over 2ft of snow at this time.

been cold here lately. -30 for the last few nights and windy on top of that. Ice huts are all on the lakes and seeing more snow machines now. Probably have 1-1.5 ft of snow now. Suppose to warm up a little this week.

We put up the boards for our hockey rink in our backyard December 24th. While we worked, we had ladybugs crawling on them. It has been way too warm to skate, much less make ice. The ground isn't even frozen. I dug down 18 inches and the coldest ground temp is 4 celcius. Needless to say, my kids have a nice wooden frame to play soccer in.

I heard that on one of the local rivers, either the Cedar or Mississippi, there were barefoot water skiers just last weekend. Temp hit low 40's today, low 50's for tomorrow. Rest of the next week upper 30's to upper 40's. Must be left over hot air from all the presidential candidates that were here. Sounds like a warmup is in store for New Hampshire as they move out of Iowa.

Sat in sun Wed afternoon on back deck, and just enjoyed a lovely afternoon with my yardboys. They were wearing their winter wooly coat and just didn't look right with the weather. Tomorrow (thurs) they are saying mid 60s.
