Anyone subscribe to a magazine that they feel has good information that can be applied to growing giant pumpkins? Yesterday while I was waiting at the Doctors office for an appointment I picked up a Successful Farming magazine and they articles about over irrigating, leaching nitrogen, and supplying nitrogen at the right time so it can be maximized by the plant.

Great post Bill.

While not magazines, I have found the following resources incredibly helpful:

The first is a soil management guide, a free online book, 300 pages of very relevant information.

The second is an e-newsletter mailed periodically from my preferred soil lab: AgriEnergy Resources. They provide information on biological management of crops and the info has carryover to our hobby.

Lastly, NRAES "Pumpkin Production Guide" is the most comprehensive resource I've come across specific to, well, producing pumpkins.

Maximum Yield has a lot of good articles for growing all sorts of things ... wink....wink...nudge....nudge
A lot of techniques can be applied to getting the most out of any crop whatever you are growing. You can read the issues online at http://www.maximumyield.com/download_issue.php
