Wondering if anyone knows if the 1290 and 772 Poiriers or the 1059 V/G were Howard Dill Award winners?

the 1059 was a HDA winner and I would bet the other two were as well. If they weren't I'd love the see the ones that beat them. lol Great orange genetics in any of these 3.

I think that the Howard Dill Award, was created after Howard passed away!!! Was meant to be a Kudo's to Howard thing!!!! Great ongoing idea started by the GPC, I think. Peace, Wayne

Thanks Tim and I'm thinking you're right Wayne as the 1290 was grown the year he passed and the 772 the year before that.

My math is bad. The 1290 was grown a year before he passed adn the 772 was the year before that.

I no of one cross was done by Stephan. Cross
was the (1290 x 772)Check his diary. I am growing the 1290 this comming year.

I sent Stephan a bubbler a couple of weeks ago for seeds from his 725 Eckhardt HDA winner, nice looking pumpkin...

I also have seed from John Young's 777 (1059 V/M X 993 V/M). Another nice looking orange one. Looking to grow both of them next season. John's 1103 (HDA winner) out of the 1059 V/M was another awesome orange. He crossed it back to the 1131 Gansert which is out of the the 1059 V/M. That will also see dirt here next year. Check his diary VTJohn. Thanks to John and Stephan for the seed.

Howard Dill passed away in 2008. The 772 was grown in 2006 which is also the earliest instance I could find of the Howard Dill Award. http://www.howarddill.com/pumpkinsphotos.html
