Do any of the state giant pumpkin growing clubs keep track of their state records on their websites? I'm talking about more than just for pumpkins, like squash, long gourds and the rest. I checked a couple and I didn't see the state records listed. I think it would be a great idea to be able to see what the state records are. I went through GPC info on this site for all the years available and came up with these for New York...
Pumpkin 1631.5 Dan and Jason McKie (2007) Squash 1125 Karl Haist (2011) Long Gourd 113 Gary Adams (2011) Watermelon 190 Karl Haist (2010) Field Pumpkin 116 Henry Grunert (2011) Tomato 5.11 Steve Wescott (2011)
I found it interesting to see that most of NY's records were broken this year. Congrats to those growers. This info would be great to see and kept updated on the NYSGPGA website along with state record info on other state club sites. Just saying... Sandy

Hi Sandy,
I started keeping track of some state records a year or so ago:
http://www.ipga.us/Staterecords.htm
Our club mainly keeps the records on "officially" weighed pumpkins:
http://www.ipga.us/TTAPumpkins.htm
I believe the European club keeps track of some records:
http://egvga.webs.com/records.htm
You can see pumpkin and squash records here:

Thanks! Kelly

Nice Kelly, thanks. Maybe you can add NY to your site with the info above. I also found this NYS record...
Cantaloupe 27 Deb Sundstrom (2005)
As this is my first year growing, can someone tell me why cantaloupes were dropped after 2008?
Great job Kelly!

You can navigate here: http://tools.pumpkinfanatic.com/Top10AverageByState.php and then click on the link under "pumpkins found". The top 10 pumpkins are listed by heaviest weight to lightest weight. The top entry should be the State Record.

Thanks Kelly and thank for the links. It looks like info on pumpkins is fairly easy to find, no surprise there. Such info on the other veggies maybe not so much.
