What does it take to get one of those pumpkin varsity jackets?
When I was in high school, you got one if you played your
junior and senior year. I got a jacket when I played first year college football.
I have grown pumpkins for 6 years. I'm getting old when do I qualify?

O-R, I think the rules read that you have to grow one w/in a 200 # range of the world's record...so, w/r is 1.8K#'s, you have to grow one in 1.6K# range to earn a "Varsity Jacket"!!!They are awarded to weight classes, not years of playing the game!!!! I know it will be awhile if I ever hit 1600lb!
So, if I did, it will go up another 200lbs and be 1800 lbs.for a jacket
I still fit in my old varsity jacket as long as I don't button it up. I still fit in some of my old high school pants, as long as they lay low and not zip up the zipper.

you can also win a jacket with (3) qualifying pumpkins shown at (3) GPC events with the total weight being at least 4,000 lbs
