To all members:

If you would like to become more involved as a member of the Southern Ohio Giant Pumpkin Growers, webmaster Chris Vanderpool has put on the site at SOGPG.com a link to a sign-up sheet and we welcome all comers. Officer elections will be held at the spring seminar on March 10, 2012. Interim officers will be as follows:

Recording Secretary......Teresa Weston
Secretary................Joe Gerchy
Treasurer................Chris Vanderpool
Sponsor Committee........Teresa Weston, Lisa Gerchy, and Paul Huffer. We welcome as many members on this committee as possible.

The SOGPG is pursuing vigorous club growth and keep in mind that each officer will be expected to do their respective parts to the very best of their ability. The spring seminar will be held at VFW Post 7941 in South Bloomfield on March 10, 2011 at 9:00 A.M. Steak dinners will be prepared by the members of the post at a cost of $10.00 per meal and will be served around 1:00 P.M. I'm told these are some fantastic steaks. There will be raffles and two speakers, one of which is Tom Privitera. Tom has some very interesting topics to discuss and will deliver advance orders from area customers. I am awaiting confirmation from the second speaker.

The SOGPG would like to begin aggressively seeking sponsors after the first of the year and committee meetings will need to be held before then.

At today's meeting in Circleville, a change of venue for the SOGPG weighoff was discussed and approved. We will now need to coordinate with local officials and try to make it happen. Be prepared for what we all hope are some very positive changes for the SOGPG. It will take dedication and hard work to make our club what we all know it can be.
