Just got back from the post office and sent out 3 bubbles. The first was to Rhode Island (about 4 hours from me) which was $1.71 and I was told that was the going rate for anywhere in the US. The second was to Quebec which is only about 2 hours from me but understand it is in another Country and it cost $1.98. The last was sent to Slovenia (no clue how far it is away but I am sure many hours) and it cost me $1.72. LOL I guess the morale of the story is, "its good to live in Slovenia." HA!

I could make a joke about them wanting to run our healthcare, but I'll refrain.

I've worked for the SOBs at the USPS for 27 years, and I gave up LONG ago trying to understand how their collective minds work. Postal rules and regulations operate on a totally different reality than the rest of us live in.
John, you KNEW I would reply to this post, didn't you?

VTjohn, don't be sure about good living in Slovenia, trust me. Everything else is very expencive. Lets take diesel for example, here 1 galon costs 6,5 dollar. But shipping is cheap. Regard, Janko from Slovenia

Some clerks process a bubble as a "flat", others process it as a small package, depends on the thickness of the bubble as well as the clerks knowledge of the rate difference between the two.
If you process a bubble by yourself at an Auto Postal Center (APC), the machine will ask you if the the package is less than 3/4", if you answer yes, you get the lower rate and no one is none the wiser. Sometimes the error is caught by a Postage Due clerk on the receiving end but not often.

Janko, No offense meant, I was just surprised the mailing rate was as low as shipping seeds to my neighbor here in the states. Your diesel costs sound scary! John

Dave, 1320's post is the short and sweet of shipping bubbles.
I apologize for venting. This is not the proper website or message board for doing that.

Vent away Steve, no appology needed. Like ours, your postal system is broke and needs to be fixed...

It cost me $1.30 to mail a Bubble to Germany and $1.71 to send one to California. Go figure.
