You might want to get a hold of Pete or Cindi Glasier They go by "tumbleweeds" on here. I know up in your area there is a meeting in Elk Grove next spring. They should be able to help you out.

hey gordzilla, in California we have one of the best loosely organized groups of pumpkin growers. we have a california meeting every year (March 3rd in Elk Grove) where we have a speaker and do a seed raffle and auction. no internet auction.no newsletter.just an auction at our meeting. we have over 100 people at the meeting. if you would like to be on our email list please send us your email. we would love to see you there. it is worth the drive! plus we have a seed exchange so everyone goes home with quality seeds.

I spent a lot of money at seed auctions last year and then got better seeds for free at Elk Grove.

that is tobad; so many growers in Calif and the potential to get a world record, but no club to turn to? except 1 day out of the year.

After a "situation" developed among the Pacific Northwest growers many years ago, the California growers said, "No Thanks" to forming a formal organization.

oh, i don't think you need a newsletter or a club president to get a world record. and i do believe we will see a WR in california in the near future. we certainly do have the potential. hope to see you on March 3rd at our meeting. and i am sure that some day california will have a newsletter and a club president too. there are so many great newsletters out there already. and you don't have to live in the state to be a member of a club. we are a global organization now, we are all ONE BIG FAMILY!
